Observation of the Eid Ul Fitr
Muslims are known for having the most intense religious observations in the whole world which if evident in their Ramadan. Ramadan is a month-long observation of fasting and prayer and it ends with the celebration of the Eid Ul Fitr or Eid Mubarak. Muslims all over the world observed the three-day celebration after Ramadan.
The Eid Ul Fitr celebration starts by waking up early in the morning and holding an outdoor prayer. This could be done in a mosque or in an open ground with the whole family or the whole neighborhood. Since this is an important day, people usually look their best by wearing their most beautiful clothes and by decorating their house for festivity. This is a great time to engage in humble and kind activities like forgiving enemies, asking for forgiveness, mending wounded relationships, and helping the poor. Muslims help their poor brothers and sisters by giving donations in the form of money.
For the celebration, families prepare special foods on the table and share a feast with their family. Some people also observe the exchanging of gifts and greeting cards especially to children. Although the holiday is a religious one and not observed by the whole world, there is a great population of Muslims all over the world that makes the Eid Ul Fitr an obvious celebration. Islamic businesses and organizations cease operation and Muslims do not go to work for the celebration.
