‘Tis the Season of Holidays
December is a month of celebration not just for people in the Christian religion but for all the people on Earth. This month celebrates many national holidays and festivals. This is why many people can’t wait for December and see all the red marks on their calendar, be it a local, cultural, national or international holiday.
The most widely celebrated holiday all over the world in December is Christmas because there are huge Catholic populations in different areas of the world. This season is filled with meaningful and valuable traditions centered on love. People make extra effort to prepare for this holiday through shopping, decorating, and engaging in religious activities. Another celebration is that of the Indian Kwanzaa festival, this is somehow related to Thanksgiving, the latter being celebrated in November and marks the start of the Christmas preparations. Kwanzaa and Thanksgiving is a celebration dedicated for a fruitful harvest. Indians follow special traditions in celebrating the festival to make sure that they will get the same bountiful harvest in the seasons to come.
Other red letter days in the December calendar is aimed for the celebration of Hannukah Hebrew Festival, World’s Aids Day, Winter Solstice or the start of the winter season, Boxing day, and the loud New Year’s Eve on December 31. Almost all of these celebrations are festivities commemorating triumph and success and are celebrated by partying and spending time with family, relatives, and friends.
