Come See the Chinese Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton may have finished in third place at the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai, but the 27-year-old from Hertfordshire now leads all other drivers in the campaign for the world title. Hamilton was the 2008 F1 world champion. He started seventh on the grid at the Shanghai International Circuit. His third-place finish gave him 15 points. This upped his total to 45 points, three points ahead of McLaren teammate Jenson Button.

Button finished in second place, behind Nico Rosberg. Rosberg won the first-ever Mercedes AMG grand prix. Hamilton had a difficult year last year, with many non-finishes. Yet he vowed to be more consistent at the start of the season in order to have a successful career in 2012.

Hamilton did not start the race well. He was pushed back seven positions due to an unscheduled gearbox lane. This let the Mercedes cars totally control the front row of the starting grid. This has not happened since 1955.

Kamui Koayashi of the Sauber team made a surprise appearance in third place on the starting grid. Pole position was given to Nico Rosberg, who had claimed it for the first time. Kobayashi was followed by Kimi Raikonnen of the Lotus tea, who was in turn followed by Jenson Button.

The resulting race would rev up anyone’s engines. See the sights of the Shanghai Grand Prix for yourself by downloading a free Chinese Grand Prix In Shanghai desktop wallpaper.
