Happy Family New Year
For many people, New Year is best spent with family. New Year is a major family holiday, along with Thanksgiving and Christmas. Family members who have been scattered across the globe come together and celebrate another New Year in each others’ presence.
Different families have different traditions. Some families head off to the nearest fireworks display to ooh and ahh over the gorgeous bursts of color. Other families set off their own fireworks in order to get a front-seat view of the action. Some families visit the houses of relatives for New Year’s. Other families host their own party.
Food is always in abundance for many families during New Year. Even though they’ve already feasted on turkey and pie during Thanksgiving, many families still set out a substantial New Year’s spread. These can include cherished dishes and recipes that are only passed down among the family, such as the secret to Grandma Rose’s tender roast beef.
While some families are out and about, others are content to stay at home and watch the celebrations on television. They may play a few board games, or talk with each other. They may even go to bed early, before the New Year’s Eve countdown begins. Each family celebrates New Year’s in it’s own way.
