The Buddha Purnima is also deemed as a thrice blessed occasion. Lord Buddha is considered as the ninth incarnation of Vishnu (the Preserver in the Hindu Holy Trinity). Gautama also lived and died around the fifth century before the birth of Christianity.

Believers of Buddhism clarifies that Gautama Buddha is not a god but a great thinker and philosopher. The faith teachings aim to free humanity from all the sufferings and miseries of life by following the principles of the Eightfold Path.
