The Warmth of Beautiful Christmas Candles
There are many wonderful traditions associated with the Christmas Holidays as it is also one of the most celebrated holidays all over the world. Lighting beautiful Christmas candles is one of these many traditions. This practice dates back in the years of royalties and ancient Rome.
In the Middle Ages, people light candles on their windows during Christmas Eve to guide Christ the Child on his way. Once the candles are lighted and all throughout the season, no strangers were turned away because they believe that it might be Christ in disguise. This practice is still observed by modern Christians although most of them use electric candles.
Another known tradition for lighting a Christmas candle is placing one on the Christmas tree. It was during the Victorian Age when this practice began as people believe that the candle symbolizes the star which guided the three wise men in their search for Jesus to offer their gifts. During the present time, people place a star or an angel on top of the Christmas tree and place the candle near it to avoid accidents.
Aside from following these traditions, people these days also light real or electric candles as part of the festive decorations. They use huge specially decorated candles with pink, green, violet, red, or gold colour. They are often placed near the fireplace or the window. They are also used as table centrepieces to add the holiday warmth and glow while families share the holiday meal in order to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
