New Zealand, an island country located in the south-western part of the Pacific Ocean, is about 1,500 kilometers or 900 miles from the east of Australia. Its filled with so many gorgeous natural attractions and one example of this is the Lake Coleridge.
Lake Coleridge is actually not that tourist-y. Only few visitors frequent this lake attraction every year. Most of them only pass through the area going to other more well-known travel spots like Christchurch, Franz Josef Glacier, and Greymouth.
But despite that, those who have seen this lake can attest how beautiful it is. Located in the inland Canterbury in the South Island of New Zealand, its about 35 kilometers northwest of Methven. Its also in the northern part of the Rakaia River.
Not only that, the site is also where one of the earliest hydroelectric schemes was completed. And that was in 1914. Apart from that, there are also some urban legends surrounding this lake. There were reports before that there was a large animal living in the lake. People called the animal, Lakey.
When you visit this lake, youll be astounded by the picturesque view and awesome natural gifts. There are also plenty of outdoor recreational activities to enjoy in the area so you can expect that theres never a dull moment while youre here. Explore the lakeside through hiking or biking.
